Molly, Molly, Molly

My friend Molly.  I enjoy our friendship and volunteering in her classroom every week.  This past year was another great year.  After doing this for 3 years we finally came upon a good way to work this out.  This year I had a regular schedule of every Tuesday and Thursday in the afternoon.  I liked the schedule and it worked very well for Molly and the other third grade teachers.  The students got to know me quite well and occasionally they requested me as their teacher while Molly worked on something else.  I could very easily step in and do whatever she needed and enjoyed the opportunity.
For those of you that may have forgotten, I was Molly's 1st grade teacher many years ago.  She has become a wonderful woman, mother and teacher.  I enjoyed the years we worked side by side and continue to enjoy the time we spend together every week.  I am thankful to be a part of her life.  Being a mother and a teacher is hard work in today's world and I am glad that she has included me as part of her 'support system'.

So lesson for the week, find someone younger and help them out. My sister is terrific at this so I learned from the 'master'.  It doesn't matter your age, you can always find someone younger (or maybe older too) that you can mentor.  I receive as much of a blessing from my relationship as Molly does.
