New haircut

Yesterday I got my hair cut again. NOW a month or so ago some of you thought Mary was me so this time I managed to get someone to take a picture of both of us. Can you tell which one is me???

I love going to get my hair cut. It is an 'experience' because when I sit down the first thing she asks me is if I would like a glass of wine. We chat for a couple of hours, I have a glass of wine and we just enjoy the experience. Mary is terrific.

My night at the Oscars

Yes, I did stay up until the VERY end which is so unlike me but I didn't have to go to work today and it just kept going on and on. After about 11:25 you decide that you have so much invested in this show so you stay up and watch it. I haven't had a chance to see 'The Hurt Locker' so I can't say much about the winning movie. I did think that Sandra Bullock did a great job in 'The Blind Side' but I didn't see any of the other movies in that category so I cant be a good judge.

I would like to say that I saw a little of the 'Red Carpet' before the awards and decided that I liked the gown on Penelope Cruz the best. For my Oscar watching evening I wore a J.Jill sweater with a Gap top underneath.

Saturday Ramblings and tasks

Once again I am with a friend and we are making jewelry. A little Saturday morning fun. We had a good time. This is my friend Maryanne and her daughter Elizabeth. We each made a bracelet.

It just so happened that we liked the same beads so the are alike.

Now, I got this picture out of order. Bud and I had a LONG technology shopping session yesterday. I NEVER enjoy this kind of shopping. We needed a new printer for the house because our old one died. We used this as an opportunity to upgrade our scanner too. This scanner will scan pictures to a pretty high resolution so I should be able to make good copies of pictures for the family. My plan is to put most of the pictues from the farm on a site and let you go and order any that you would like and maybe I will work on making a book for each of you. Anyway, we now have the scanner to use. We also looked at phones. We are planning to buy a phone that we can use here in the house but it will be compatable with a cell phone. We will then drop our land line and only use a cell phone each of us. I wanted a phone that would serve as a docking station type of phone for the cell phone. Then the other phones in the house would ring and I wouldn't have to carry around my cell phone to hear the phone in the house ring. I would also be able to send text messages and take the cell phone with me if I wanted it. Maybe I will be getting a cell phone after all but don't expect me to call you all the time on my cell phone or don't expect that I will take it with me when I am places like the grocery store and things like that. We have to order the 'docking station' phone so it will be a while before we make this transformation.

This is the final project. We learned how to twist the wire and make the coil thing. It is cute and it was fun to make.

Finally this is a picture that Matt sent to us. The family went to a Young Author's day yesterday. This is Hailey with Grammy award winner Bill Harley. I must admit I don't know who he is but I am sure it was fun to meet him.

Bud's breakfast

We went to the Yacht Club last night and it was pizza night. We had lots of leftovers so just like college days, Bud is having pizza for breakfast. I hope your day starts out as full of flavors as this pizza.

Back with the gang at lunch

I went into Kingsley to help Molly today. It was a good thing that I went today because her husband fell while playing hockey last night and broke his arm. She has an extra load now and needed to have some things done so that she can get home and help. He is a builder so this is a slow time for him but still it adds a challenge to their lives. I stayed all day and checked papers, read with children, made copies for the gang and just generally helped out. This is from left to right Jodi who took my room, Tonya, Molly and Sean all 3rd grade teachers. I enjoy going and spending the morning. I always stay for lunch and catch up on the gossip around there. I like to stop in and harass my former boss. He still likes to think that he can boss me around and reminds me that I could sign up to be a sub and get paid. I don't want to get paid, then it would be too much like work. I like going in once a week and helping.

Charlotte turned 14

Last night we went out to dinner and celebrated Charlotte Noble's 14th birthday. This is a picture of Charlotte and Jack. Sue, Brittany and David are in St. Thomas so it was just 5 of us out for dinner. It was nice to have dinner with them. Charlotte did a great job finishing her birthday dessert. I did help some too. It was delicious.

New look

Today I spent a little time working on the "look" of my blog. I decided to put our house picture at the top. What do you think?? I still don't know many things about how to improve the 'look' but will continue to experiment.
